January
26th - Reigning F3000 champion to join Webber and Klien
at Valencia
Jaguar Racing
has announced that Swedish F3000 driver Bjorn Wirdheim
will test for the team at Valencia, Spain this week.
The 24-year-old, who won the F3000 championship for
Arden in 2003, will run for Jaguar Racing on the Wednesday
of the three-day test, which begins on Tuesday, January
27.
With Jaguar Racing
set to run a third car on the Friday of grand prix weekends,
Wirdheim is one of many drivers the team is looking
at for a testing role within the team. Current FIA regulations
state that drivers who have competed in six grands prix
or more over the past two years may not test on a Friday.
Wirdheim is no stranger to Formula One, having tested
for both Jordan and BAR in 2003.
